Tumbleweed's Anime Page of Lists

The idea behind this page should be pretty obvious to any anime fan who has cruised around the rec.arts.anime.misc group and has been bombarded with interminably long threads about what's good and what isn't in the world of anime. Some of these threads get pretty long and after time the flame wars that result can be pretty tiresome. So I've decided to never join a flame-thread again. Instead I've made this page.

Here are several lists of what I consider to the be the best and worst anime has to offer.

Now, as the format is concerned, everything is in alphabetical order. I've made my choices in general, but like most folks involved in anime, I can't make any one single decision as to what I really want. (Sound familiar? Ayukawa or Hikaru? Akane or Shampoo? Miki or Anju?) What I have done though is mention where I prefer the manga depiction over the anime depiction.

The idea behind the Non-anthropomorphic Character list came about when I realized that a third of the Favorite Female Characters list were nonhumans in human form. (Oddly, 3 are played by Hayashibara Megumi). What does this say about gender relations in pop-culture Japan? Hmmmnnn... Also interesting to note that 6 of the non-human choices were cat or part-cat.

As for the two sections with the Characters I Want to Pick Up and Shake Real Hard, it's not because they're necessarily evil or bad people, but more that their behavior drives me up a wall sometimes and you find yourself really wanting to shake some common sense into them. My choices may not be perfect, but hey, I never promised to be objective. ^_^

This is the first time I've put up a page like this, so I imagine there will be some changes over time. If you have any comments regarding my choices, see the end of the page for details. Now...
