Welcome to my collection of photographs! I update this page often, so please visit often.

Hi! I'm Chris Campion, a scientist living in Southwest Florida. I have a diverse and varied background consisting mainly of the natural sciences. My interests include organic chemistry, plant sciences, horticulture, aromatherapy, western herbalism, biomimicry and sustainability issues. This website was created to provide a place for me to post my photographs and writing as well as a vehicle to deliver information about me and the different skills I have available.

I look forward to communication and criticism so please feel free to email me from the "contact me" page. I am an amateur photographer who uses a Fuji FinePix S5700. I am always open to suggestions that will help me make my photography better. I have particular problems with purple fringing and getting exposure settings right. I have been gaining a great deal of experience working with the GIMP and am really happy to showcase some of that artwork below. Out in the field I like to use blue-sky and circular polarizer filters. As far as subject matter goes, I have a fondness for flora and fauna, however I try to sneek in the artsey shot now and again. I suspect that as I grow more comfortable with my camera and what it can do, those artsey photos will become more frequent.

To all who visit these pages: peace.

Oh, and a note on topics. In very rare instances I will use a photo taken by someone else, I endeavor to give credit via footnoting. If I have mistakenly omitted credit, please let me know. So, unless otherwise noted the photos on this page are all of my own taking. If you would like a full size version of any of the photos, simply email me and provide me with the photo's numerical name: (ex. the pink passiflora below is 10101) and your email address. Remember these photos are fairly large so specify any e-mail size restrictions you may have and if you wish them to be in a particular aspect ratio (ex. 4x6) for your printing plans. Of course I reserve the right to refuse any requests based only on my own whim, although, I am generally not a turd. Under no circumstances may these images be used for profit.
